The infographic encourages people to fix rather than replace broken items around the home.

PR Log - Apr 22, 2013 - In honor of Earth Day, eReplacementParts.com, a company specializing in replacement and repair parts,   has released an infographic illustrating facts about the Earth’s environment and how people can get involved to celebrate. The infographic also outlines a brief history of the holiday and urges consumers to recycle rather than replace everyday household items.

“Not only can you save money by fixing broken items around your home,” said David Fairbanks, CEO of eReplacementParts.com. “But you can cut down the impact you have on the landfill and environment.”

According to the infographic, eReplacementParts.com customers repaired more than 68,500 lawn mowers last year, saving more than 4.1 million pounds from landfills.

Earth Day was first celebrated by the United States in 1970. Since then, it has grown into a global event and is celebrated by more than one billion people in 190 countries.

“Earth Day is one of the most celebrated movements around the world,” Fairbanks said. “We wanted to get involved and show people some easy things they can do around the home to reduce their environmental impact.”

eReplacementParts.com’s infographic provides ideas for getting involved in Earth Day. These ideas include:

·         Planting a tree with family members.

·         Constructing a bird bath out of recycled materials.

·         Designing a drip irrigation system using recycled bottles.

·         Making a greenhouse using the tops of soda bottles.

“It doesn’t take a lot to get involved on Earth Day,” said Fairbanks. “Even the smallest contributions add up to make a difference.”
