Access to investors is not easy anywhere in the world and it's even harder in places that don’t value the entrepreneurial culture as Silicon Valley does.
Startup Icon is described as “The international, web-based American Idol for Startups”. It´s a game changing online competition where entrepreneurs from anywhere in the world pitch to elite Silicon Valley investors via video conference (without leaving their city) while significantly increasing the awareness of their project and their user base.
The goal for Season 2: get 1,000,000 users for 10 startups.
To make it way more interesting, the audience plays a key role! They are the ones who select the startups that move from the qualifying phase into the competition, based on the amount of signups they have.
The team needs to increase the production quality substantially to make the competition compelling enough to get 1,000,000 users for 10 startups and the team needs to reach millions of people around the world.
Also, StartupIcon.tv are going to fly the finalists into Silicon Valley, put them up at "Draper´s University of Heroes" and run them through a boot camp with the stretch goal of turning it into a reality show.
