Mark Montgomery Receives Award in Health Care Category; Recognized for Innovation and Growth

Mark, who was sole Central Florida based executive to receive the prestigious award, was recognized as one of nine Florida entrepreneurs who collectively grew employment for their companies by 64 percent and their revenues by 48 percent between 2010 and 2012. Mark accepted the award at a gala event at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach on June 13.
According to Ernst & Young, the award recognizes outstanding high-growth entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
Mark is a 25-year innovator in the specialty pharmacy sector of the healthcare industry, and joined Axium in 2003 when the company was made up of 25 people. In the past decade, he scaled the operation to operate more efficiently, and expanded the amount of supported disease states from two to more than ten today. Under his direction and innovation, Axium developed into a patient-centric organization with increased services to better support patients, build relationships and services for managed care and drug manufacturer/biotech stakeholders. Today, Axium operates as one of largest specialty pharmacy providers in the U.S.—and the newest addition to the Kroger Co.—with more than 175 employee associates.
The Company recently entered into an alliance with Physician Resource Management, Inc. (PRM) to develop a national Oncology Therapy Management Program to enhance oncology care and therapy management for the nation’s patient and practice population.
