Masterpiece Design Group Wins 6 Aurora Awards for design excellence at this month's Southeast Builders Conference in Orlando for homebuilding projects in the Orlando and Tampa Bay area markets.
PRLog - Jul 26, 2013 - WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Masterpiece Design Group (MDG) solidified its reputation as one of the Southeast’s most versatile design firms by winning Aurora Awards in three separate categories during this year’s 35th annual Southeast Builder’s Conference in Orlando.

The full-service Winter Park design firm earned six Aurora Awards for excellence and distinction in the categories of Kitchen Design, Interior Merchandising and Interior Detailing for residential homebuilding projects in the Orlando and the Tampa Bay markets.

The six awards collected were the most ever at any one time for Masterpiece Design Group which over the years has received dozens of accolades for its design and merchandising work for some of the biggest names in the homebuilding industry, says Masterpiece President Christy Scanlon.

For its latest efforts, MDG teamed up with longtime Orlando custom homebuilder Silliman Homes and acclaimed Tampa Bay builder Homes by WestBay to produce some of the best designs in this year’s event which featured hundreds of entries from builders and industry professionals from 11 Southeast states and the Eastern Caribbean.

Masterpiece won separate Aurora Awards in the categories of Interior Merchandising and Interior Detailing in the Over $2 million Category for the Palazzo Lago, a luxurious 7,628 square-foot, Mediterranean-styled lakefront estate built by Silliman Homes in Windermere’s upscale Waterstone community.

The company also collaborated with Homes by WestBay to capture four separate Auroras at three of the builder’s Tampa area communities, including a Grand Aurora for Interior Merchandising in the $300K-$500K Category for the Capri Model in Riverview, FL, which also earned an Aurora for outstanding Kitchen Design and Model Merchandising in its category.

Masterpiece capped off the judging by receiving its final Aurora for Interior Merchandising for the Key Largo II in Land O’ Lakes in Pasco County. In addition, the company was part of the design team for two other Homes by WestBay model homes in Tampa that earned Aurora Awards for Residential Design.

According to Scanlon, the Aurora Awards are the homebuilding industry’s version of Hollywood’s Oscars. They are the gold standard for which industry professionals ranging from builders to architects to interior designers strive.

“Winning an Aurora is a major achievement because you are competing against very talented and capable professionals from 11 states,” says Scanlon.

Scanlon says being honored for outstanding design is always rewarding but she takes greater satisfaction in getting recognition for her builder clients such as Home By WestBay and  Silliman Homes and contributing to their sales success.

“Our primary objective – particularly in the area of Model Merchandising – is to not just make the homes look appealing and captivating but also to help drive sales,” she says. “If we’re successful doing that, we’re doing our job. The awards and outside recognition are simply an added bonus.”

Since its inception in 1998, Masterpiecehas become one of the state’s premier design companies with clients throughout Orlando, Tampa, Sarasota-Bradenton, Jacksonville and south Florida, as well as the Southeast and Midwest. Over the years it has provided professional design and model merchandising services for a long line of industry leaders, including Homes by WestBay, Standard Pacific Homes, Silliman Homes, Royal Oaks Homes, Lennar Homes, DR Horton Homes, Ryland Homes, Taylor Morrison and Chicago-based Crown Development Group.
