PRLog - Sep 04, 2013 - DESTIN, Fla. -- The “Paddle at the Porch” races have been rescheduled from last month due to the bad weather and will now take place September 15th at 10am. Behind the popular beachside restaurant The Back Porch Seafood and Oyster Bar, participants will race their stand-up paddle boards in one mile, three mile, and six mile races. Along with great food from The Back Porch, there will be $1,500 in cash prizes and awards for the winners. “Artwalk on the Harbor” will also kick off on the 15th and will continue each month on the third Sunday. There will be a walk around art show at the HarborWalk Village boardwalk showcasing local and regional artists’ unique creations. Art, crafts, jewelry, and photography will be available to purchase.

The Destin Beer Festival attracts thousands of locals and visitors each year with high-end craft and microbrews. Chan Cox of Chan’s Wine World says, “We are excited to help bring the craft beer movement to the Southeast.” The event will take place at the Destin location on September 28th from 2-5pm benefiting The Children’s Neighborhood of Children in Crisis, Inc. Attendees will enjoy live entertainment, various culinary stations and an afternoon of specialty brews. Overnight accommodations are available in the Destin and surrounding areas.

Concerts in the Village will continue throughout the fall season at Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation in Destin. Every Thursday evening, live music will hit the lawn with performances by LavaLamp covering popular seventies hits, The Return with a tribute to The Beatles, and local favorite Dread Clampitt. Each show is from 7-9pm and guests are welcome to bring blankets or chairs to sit and enjoy the bands.

Each Friday at Williams Backyard Boogie in Santa Rosa Beach, the public is invited to enjoy live music and great food and drinks. "Backyard Boogie for the Arts" will take place September 20th at 6pm. The Forrest Williams Band, Bryan Kennedy, and Stephanie Lynn will perform with proceeds benefiting Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast's Arts in Medicine program.
