PRLog - May 27, 2014 - NEW YORK -- Brian Mehling, M.D., an American orthopedic trauma surgeon, founder, and chief medical officer of Blue Horizon International (BHI) and Blue Horizon Charitable Foundation (BHCF), visited with orphaned children on a recent business trip to Abuja and Lagos in Nigeria. After touring the facility, meeting with the founder, and her staff, he also made a $1,000 donation to help the orphanage fulfill its vision to provide shelter for abandoned and orphaned children brought to them until they are adopted or able to lead an independent life.
“Lady Bethy, her family, and the dedicated team at Living Foundation Orphanage are making an extraordinary difference in the lives of so many abandoned and orphaned children,” said Dr. Mehling. “The physical, emotional, and spiritual care they offer provides these children with the foundation to grow into whole and mature adults,” he added.
Living Fountain Orphanage is a non-governmental, non-profit making organization which was established in 2007 out of the desire to provide shelter, clothing, emotional care and hope for a better future for the motherless, abandoned, and less privileged children in our society.
In a country where more than half the population live in appalling conditions, with very little income, and families are torn apart by urbanization, Living Fountain Orphanage was established by the family of Dr. Raymond and Lady Bethy Obieri and their five children, to rescue the tiniest victims of a society in turmoil and in fact, the poorest of the poor children of Lagos, Nigeria.
