Metaphysical Novel Focuses On Crucial Events Before Jesus Began Public Ministry
PRLog - Aug. 6, 2014 - MINNEAPOLIS -- FRIENDS OF JESUS, a new historical fiction e-book, imagines a crucial and expanded role for Mary Magdalene in the days before Jesus began his public ministry.

FRIENDS OF JESUS fantasizes a dramatic series of events at the very beginning of Christianity, according to e-book author Allen C. Liles. "Although the story is strictly fictional, it presents the idea that God did indeed designate Mary Magdalene as Jesus' full partner in the days before he was baptized at the Jordan River by John the Baptist," Liles said. "In many Biblical stories, God chose dual entities to present a spiritual message. In the Garden of Eden, God used Adam and Eve to illustrate important laws and truths. FRIENDS OF JESUS supposes that God chooses both a man and woman-Jesus and Mary Magdalene- as saviors of the world and divine carriers of the Good News."

FRIENDS OF JESUS also integrates many well-known Biblical characters into the scenario of what might have occurred before Jesus commenced his public ministry documented in the scriptures. "Not much is known about what happened in the days leading up to Jesus' baptism ," Liles stated. "FRIENDS OF JESUS offers a fictional storyline that features all of the key players: Jesus of Nazareth, Mary Magdalene, John the Baptist, Simon Peter, Mary, mother of Jesus, Judas Iscariot, Pontius Pilate and the Jewish High Priest Caiaphas.

Liles, an ordained minister, reaffirmed that FRIENDS OF JESUS, is a fictional and metaphysical fantasy created from the author's active imagination. "But the dramatic events depicted are certainly imaginable, including the expanded importance of Mary Magdalene at the earliest stages of Christianity," he added.

FRIENDS OF JESUS will be released by Smashwords on August 15. It is available for preorder at Apple's Ibooks Store, Barnes and Noble's Nook Store and www.smashwords.com. The first 50% of the new e-book can be downloaded now at www.smashwords.com/books/view/455617.
