SEU’s Latest Survey Says Germany Going Backwards on Leadership in Clean Energy
PRLog - July 15, 2015 - RENO, Nev. -- Europe is focusing on Energy Security and the Energy Union. EU Committees are working on diversifying sources of energy supply, increased use of renewables, enhanced use of energy efficiency scheme, and improved power interconnection among Member States. Germany has been a leading force in the European efforts to achieve energy security and on Climate Change issues. It has shut down nuclear reactors and commenced a major implementation of renewable energy projects.

With energy security in the forefront, Germany just released its updated energy plan. The plan seems more pragmatic than the public positions of Germany on Clean Energy. Germany plans continued use of lignite (Coal) power plants for meeting peaking energy requirements. This position has angered environmentalists and Clean-Energy advocates
