iComfortis.com also makes it possible for individuals to celebrate the life of the departed by enabling them to easily create online memorials (obituaries) that can be saved, stored, and shared at an attractive price.
The site is based on the personal experiences of one of the co-founders.
“I come from a large family,” said Vernon Miranda, “and I found myself creating obituaries again and again, yet the task never got easier. And then there was the enormous cost of publishing these notices in the newspaper, which could run into hundreds, even thousands of dollars. On top of that, the obituary would appear only once. If a family member missed that edition, they missed the notice. I thought there had to be a better way.”
With this new website, a simpler, more cost-effective way to remember a beloved one’s life is now available, and through the Internet provides a highly efficient way to share that life with the world for an entire 12 months.
An online memorial can be quickly created on the site in just a few simple steps. The finished product can then be stored and shared with family and friends for one year and renewed if desired.
And iComfortis.com offers much more than just a venue on which to remember a loved one.
“When we started laying out our plans we knew we wanted to be more than just a place where people can create obituaries,” added co-founder Judy Miranda. “We wanted iComfortis to be a garden of comfort where people could find solace while dealing with their loss.”
To that end the site provides access to additional resources, including recommended reading, information on coping with grief, legal and financial considerations, and more.
Helpful links to government agencies and national grief support groups are offered as well.
