Junction Introduces $500 Complete Building Sensor System

Junction monitors air temperature, humidity, carbon monoxide, smoke, natural gas, air quality, problematic noise, lights and motion and sends text or email alerts.
NEW YORK - Dec. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- Articulated Technology Inc. announced today the launch of Junction — a sensor system that gathers real time data about building systems and conditions and produces useful intelligence designed to maximize the efficiency of building management.

The incredibly small JunctionBox immediately begins gathering data as soon as it is plugged in. It monitors air temperature, humidity, carbon monoxide, smoke, natural gas, air quality, problematic noise, lights and motion. 3 additional plug and play sensors can be easily added to monitor data feeds such as flooding and water leaks, elevator motor temperature or boiler temperature. JunctionBox also includes the ability to capture images and videos.

If conditions are abnormal, Junction delivers text and email alerts to help owners and managers react quickly to potentially costly system failures. Junction analyzes sensor data, then turns it into meaningful information and presents it in easy-to-understand formats. Junction also provides recommendations and other actionable intelligence to help reduce losses and improve efficiency. All building data is displayed on a cloud-based dashboard where multiple buildings can be monitored simultaneously.

“Large commercial buildings and the newest skyscrapers have millions of dollars of equipment to monitor building functions. However, buildings that are smaller and older are often hesitant to make large financial investments when it comes to installing new technology,” says Jake Schrader, CEO and Co-Founder of Junction. “JunctionBoxes remove that obstacle and allow all buildings to take advantage of low-cost, high-value digital building monitoring.”

JunctionBoxes retail for $499 and come ready to plug in. “We were very careful during the design of the product to ensure that we were extremely cost effective while providing all major data points a building manager or superintendent would need to monitor for a single building or multiple buildings,” said Jeff Tarr, CTO and Co-Founder.

Junction also works with Nest thermostats, allowing for alerts to be sent through the Junction system. There is no additional charge for this functionality.

“We believe there is a huge opportunity for Junction and have targeted over 130,000 potential buildings in New York City alone,” added Bill Gottlieb, COO and Co-Founder. “Junction offers more functionality for less cost than any other system on the market.”
