TANGO HEALTH RECEIVES CERTIFICATION FROM IRS TO PARTICIPATE IN AFFORDABLE CARE ACT INFORMATION RETURNS PROGRAM

Tango Health has been approved by the Internal Revenue Service to file electronically through the agency’s Affordable Care Act Information Returns (AIR) Program, a significant achievement that will streamline ACA compliance reporting for Tango’s customers.

Tango, one of only a few IRS-approved software vendors, completed a lengthy and rigorous certification process, including all eight of the agency’s Affordable Care Act Assurance Testing System (AATS) scenarios for 2015.

Under recently released IRS regulations, employers filing at least 250 returns under Sections 6055 or 6056 of the Internal Revenue Code must do so electronically using the AIR Program. However, the process of filing Forms 1094-C and 1095-C electronically can be very tedious and challenging to employers facing the March 31 reporting deadline.

“Through close work with the IRS and after extensive testing, we are excited to have received certification for the AIR Program to be able file returns electronically on behalf of our customers,” said Curt Beckmeier, Vice President of Technology and Operations at Tango. “With this certification, we are now able to allay our customers’ compliance concerns and allow them to focus on the many other tasks that are associated with the end of the business year.”

Tango manages the IRS compliance requirements for over 1 million employees from a wide range of employers with its ACA Compliance Concierge Suite, a powerful combination of software technology and first-class service designed to simplify compliance tracking.

The challenging IRS reporting process for businesses includes completing the e-Services Registration to obtain login credentials, obtaining the ACA Information Return Transmitter Control Code (TCC) Application, and passing a series of system tests to ensure that reporting forms will be properly submitted on time. Employers also must keep in mind the acceptable file formats and sizes for electronic transmissions.
