Misappropriation of Bamboo Washcloths Causes Outcry from Babies across Country

With spring in the air and Easter having been put to bed early this year, you would expect everything in the homes of new families to be rosy and looking forward to the lighter evenings and warmer days. But all is not as harmonious as you might expect with a growing outcry from babies across the country to what they see as a coordinated attack on their way of life.

At the centre of the allegations are Bamboo washcloths which the babies and toddlers allege that their mums and sometimes grandparents have been stealing from the bathroom to be used by “others” for “We don’t know what”.

A spokesperson (older brother aged 8), for the babies explained, “My sister’s not happy. She says that there were more than 2 washcloths in the bathroom last time. She only counts to 2 so she doesn’t know how many, but now they’re gone and she wants them back!”

The reason for the outcry centres on the softness of the washcloths which are made of Bamboo rayon fibre. The manufacturing process that takes out the harsher elements of the Bamboo stalks leaving fibres to be made from the cellulose extract means that the resulting cloth is amazingly soft. This along with properties such as its high wicking nature, (the ability to draw moisture from the skin), are what make the Bamboo washcloths so appealing to babies but have seemingly also drawn them to the attention of the older generations.

Chris O’Brien, a spokesperson for the manufacturers SiMignon attempted to pacify the ring leaders of the protest, “We understand their concerns and admit that the softness and flexibility of the bamboo rayon can make them attractive to parents and grandparents. It is true that some mothers have admitted to using the washcloths for removing make-up and as personal washcloths. One mum said she spent many a sleepless night over the issue.”

Chris continued, “At this time we would like to call for all parties involved to remain calm. There are plenty of washcloths to go around and we encourage the parents and grandparents who find the babies washcloths irresistible to do the right thing and buy their own supply. We don’t think it’s necessary for the toddlers to go ahead with their planned 24 hour sit down. We hope that a satisfactory resolution can be found that will leave parents, grandparents and babies secure in the knowledge that they have their own supply of Bamboo washcloths.
