The easy, green and clean cat litter solution plans new crowdfunding campaign and the launch of The Cat's Ask 'Hightail' model
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia - June 15, 2016 - PRLog -- Catchwise Inc., the privately-held company that developed The Cat's Ask environmentally friendly litter box, has accepted an infusion of capital from a minority shareholder in Southern California.

The investor is the retired CEO of a 1.5 billion-dollar publicly traded company. No other details specific to the investment are being disclosed, except that the funds are sufficient to proceed from prototyping to manufacturing, according to Catchwise CEO Mark Fenwick.

"We were not looking for any other source of funds besides crowdfunding," says Fenwick. "But then we were approached by an experienced investor, and after many frank and productive discussions through email, over the phone and in person, it became clear that this was a unique and wonderful opportunity for our company."

As a result of this influx of capital, Catchwise Inc. can advance its strategic goals at an accelerated pace.

"Based on feedback from our many staunch supporters, we're working on a brand new version of our litter box called the Hightail, which has all the advantages of The Cat's Ask version one, and some fantastic new features," says Fenwick. "This investment allows us to quickly produce new prototypes and plan for a new crowdfunding campaign."

"Basically, it means that an even better version of our game-changing, easy, clean and green litter box, will be appearing very soon on Kickstarter," says Fenwick.

The Cat's Ask is a two-tiered litter box that replaces traditional cat litter with sustainable safflower seeds, an oil seed usually sold as bird seed. The litter box's design allows liquid waste to filter through a grate and into a hidden collector, and then is later flushed. Solid waste is scooped and also flushed. Seeds are spritzed with vinegar and water and stay fresh and clean for at least a month, even with multiple cats. Meanwhile, the used seeds are eco-friendly enough for the compost bin. Which means that ALL the litter waste is either flushed or composted, resulting in zero garbage.

A result of over three years of research and testing, The Cat's Ask is a deceptively elegant litter box that's got a lot of innovation under the hood. Made in Canada and the U.S. from waterproof waxed cardboard and post-industrial recycled plastic, the box is engineered to funnel urine through the safflower seed bed and into a container below, which can be easily replaced with standard recyclable milk or juice cartons.
