The Launch was Held at Brooklyn Borough Hall in Collaboration with Borough President Eric Adams' Senior Initiative
MANHATTAN, N.Y. - June 28, 2016 - PRLog -- JIG Media is pleased to announce the official launch of New York for Seniors magazine. The much-awaited publication was developed in cooperation with the Brooklyn Borough President's senior initiative to offer rich and relevant content that addresses the needs of New York City's senior citizen residents.
The magazine was unveiled at Brooklyn Borough Hall during a press conference earlier this week, with Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams attending, along with Assemblywoman Latrice Walker, Brian Morgan of Alpha Care, Rob Shepard of Grow NYC, Managing Editor S. Eric Blackwell, News 12 Brooklyn, and Vernon Jones Jr. of JIG Media as master of ceremonies.
"This is a movement. The goal is to create an environment where seniors can have a good quality of life and New York for Seniors supports that," said Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams.
The visual and editorial quality of New York for Seniors magazine is simple and contemporary. Its pages are inspired by the values and interests of its muse Thelma Jones of Vandalia Senior Center. Every issue will feature content that focuses on events, activities, health, nutrition, and managed care issues that are often a concern for seniors. Speaking of managed care, the first issue features a short Q&A discussion with Brookdale Department of Medicine Chairman, Dr. Rose.
Unlike other publications, New York for Seniors is written exclusively for seniors. Readers can expect the content to be short and sweet. In addition, seniors within the community will serve as regular contributors of the magazine so that their voices can be heard.
New York for Seniors is accessible. Readers who prefer a print version of the magazine can pick up a free copy at selected distributors throughout NYC. Tech-savvy seniors can also download the app on their Android mobile devices or by visiting: www.nyforseniors.com,
The New York for Seniors initiative is supported by the Office of the Brooklyn Borough President, Alpha Care, Grow NYC and Shoprite.
