The Order of the Four Circles: The Order Reborn

British writer / director / actor Jamie King is scheduled to begin production on Women of Revolution in London next month if he can raise sufficient funds. This original film, written by King, dramatizes the life of Mary Wollstonecraft, a 19th Century feminist activist and mother of Mary Shelley.

“Everyone knows Mary Shelly the author of “Frankenstein”, but not everyone has heard of her equally inspiring mother Mary Wollstonecraft,” King stated. “When I discovered Mary’s story accidentally one day, I was interested to know more. I feel that her story is a universal message of love, hope, and freedom that needs to be shared.  Her philosophies apply to both sexes, and even though she created them hundreds of years ago, I believe they are very relevant today.”

Thus far, 17 backers have given 535 British pounds, about 18 percent of the 3,000 which is the ultimate goal to get the film started. Donations from five to 500 British pounds can be accompanied by a litany of perks such as having the donor’s name listed in the production credits, a dining at a five-star restaurant, photoshoot with cast, and more.

This campaign will be giving 5% of proceeds to the “Mary on the Green Campaign. For more information about donating funds go to https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/women-of-revolution–2#/.

His troupe of actors and staff includes Sherralyn Lee, Mike Hadjipateras, John Dobson, Wesley Lloyd, Melissa Woodside, and others.

“I am very proud of the awe-inspiring group of professional crew and talent that I’ve managed to get together,” King stated. “The funds contributed to this project will allow me to ideally take them on a journey of multiple films together and unearth hidden stories from the past.”

King stated that his passion for history has transferred into his talent for acting, believing that people can learn from mistakes of the past. “Mary undertook the task of helping women to achieve a better life, not only for themselves but for everyone. As a society, we have come so far to see Mary’s vision actualized, but we still have a huge way to go in terms of gender equality. What better way to achieve that dream than by sharing her legacy to all with the power of film. We will do our best to do her justice.”

He said he hopes his docudrama will be inspiring to his viewer. “Mary was truly a child of the French Revolution where the epic power of the subject matter truly takes hold.”
