RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Oct. 19, 2016 - PRLog -- What do tattoos, ghosts, werewolves, and goblins have in common?
For some, the terror lies within the horrifying tattoo they have endured for years, whether it's the name of an ex-boyfriend/girlfriend, a drunken night experience, or serving as a test canvas for an inspiring tattoo artist.
Whatever the case may be, Alfred Zaragoza, owner of Madd Tatter'z Tattoo Studio, has heard the howling for years, to the point where his crew have covered up numerous tattoo nightmares.
"There's a story for each and every tattoo; sometimes it's more of a horror story than one with a happy ending. That's where the idea of this contest came from," chuckles Zaragoza.
Halloween day is Zaragoza's birthday, and also the day which he will announce the winner of his online contest, "Help! I Have A Tattoo From Hell." Contestants upload photos of their bad tattoos and share their story. The winner will receive a free cover-up tattoo designed and inked by Zaragoza himself.
The clean studio filled with Alice in the Wonderland decor is located in Riverside, California. Winners of the Press Enterprise's Best of Inland Empire in 2015 and 2016, the recently expanded shop took over the adjacent office due to the increase in appointments since opening in 2013. "I have so much to be thankful for and I wanted to give back to the community with this contest," Zaragoza explains.
"I truly love [my wife] and believe she deserves her name to look nice. [The neck tattoo] looks more like Danny than Daisy," explains an entrant named Angel.
Another entry, titled "Fairy Hell" by Ashley, says, "I'm starting a new chapter in my life and could truly use some new ink to start my new chapter." Zaragoza is encouraging more people to consider repairing their tattoos before too much time passes.
"We're having a lot of fun with the whole 'Tattoo From Hell' Halloween theme, but for some it's a serious matter and is even causing embarrassment, shame, and even arguments between couples." At the completion of the sweepstakes, all entrants will receive a coupon towards their cover-up. The final day to upload a photo and a story behind the tattoo is October 29th on www.maddtatterz.com/halloween or on the Madd Tatter'z Facebook fan page.
