As it faces increased competition and battles through a tough retail environment, the sportswear giant will allow retailers to advertise 25 percent discounts year round, a significant shift that could spur short-term sales, but at the expense of damaging Nike's brand, which many consider premium. The company said the change was made to simplify its account for retail partners.
