Wells Fargo says it may have created 3.5 million unauthorized accounts, nearly double what was estimated

In a filing, submitted Thursday afternoon with the U.S. District Court in San Francisco, the bank says the new figure was calculated based on “public information, negotiations, and confirmatory discovery.”
