Bain Capital to join South Korea’s SK Hynix in bid for Toshiba chip business

South Korean chip maker SK Hynix Inc. and U.S. private-equity firm Bain Capital plan to bid between ¥1 trillion and ¥1.5 trillion ($9 billion and $13.5 billion) for more than half of Toshiba Corp.’s memory-chip business, according to a person familiar with the matter.
