Johnson Controls completes $2B sale of business unit to 3M

Johnson Controls said Wednesday that it completed the sale of its Scott Safety business to 3M for about $2 billion. Net cash proceeds from the deal, initially announced in March, were $1.9 billion and will be used to repay part of Tyco International Holding’s $4.0 billion in merger-related debt.
