The author / publisher is a thoracic surgeon; he has been Head of the corresponding Department at the 424 Military Hospital in Thessaloniki, Greece since 1999. He serves as a Colonel in the Hellenic Army Medical Corps, with 33 years of clinical experience. He was the Regent for Greece of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons in 2005–2010. His specialist-training took place in the UK and Greece. His areas of interest include lung cancer, bioethics, medical ethics, and documentation.
