C.H. Robinson, a global third party logistics (3PL) company, and its Atlanta offices contributed to a month-long, company-wide, employee-led giving campaign, which raised a total of $791,000 for a variety of nonprofits, including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In addition to the Robinson Cares campaign fundraising, employees accumulated more than 1,450 volunteer hours, helping their neighbors in need.
The Atlanta team chose to fundraise for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The organization has impacted countless employees and their families, including Darrel Penn. “Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has had a tremendous effect on my family. Both my daughters were born with CTEV, or clubfoot,” said Darrel Penn, strategic sales executive at C.H. Robinson. “They both endured multiple procedures and doctor visits in the first two years of their life. Fast forward to today, and they are running, jumping kids who are active in cheerleading. I’m forever thankful for all the care they received.”
Through internal fundraising events, the employees raised nearly $10,000. “This campaign not only brings together all of the Atlanta offices, but it makes an impact in our community,” said Annie Butler, human resources specialist at C.H. Robinson.
Since 2005, C.H. Robinson, along with its Foundation, has given over $23 million back to our communities.
“Our employees are the best in the industry — not just in their supply chain expertise, but their dedication to making an impact in their communities on the issues that matter to them most,” said Angie Freeman, chief human resources officer at C.H. Robinson. “Because of them, we were able to support more than 250 nonprofits working locally and globally.”
