Blaming cuts by state Republicans, Democrats raise Hamilton County sales tax

Citing cuts to local government by legislative Republicans, the two Democrats on the Hamilton County Commission imposed a new 0.2 percent sales tax on Monday to deal with a longtime structural deficit in the county’s general fund.
