European stocks stage recovery, but U.S.-China trade tensions remain

European stocks on Wednesday bounced off their lowest levels in nearly three weeks, staging a recovery after further deterioration in the trade relationship between the U.S. and China sent equities worldwide tumbling in the prior session.
