Portable Sterilizer Reaches Kickstarter Goal in Just 17 Hours

Klistem’s portable sterilizer has received an overwhelming response from the Kickstarter community following its launch. In just 17 hours, the project’s USD 10,000 funding goal was achieved. Klistem uses UV-C light to eradicate 99.99% of bacteria and deodorize reusable bottles or other household items in just two minutes.

By using the 253.7nm wavelength, Klistem debilitates bacterial DNA, which effectively prohibits reproduction. Because UV-C sanitation is only effective upon contact, it is essential that rays completely reach the inside of the bottle. However, with the top-to-bottom design of current sanitation products on the market, UV-C rays are not fully distributed and are blocked by shadows. Klistem’s unique design puts the bottle upside-down, which allows gravity to pull the remaining water droplets outside the bottle. With the light and air source being at the bottom, UV-C rays and air flow reaches all the crevices of the bottle. This is the key to Klistem’s maximum sanitation.
