Arizona Helping Hands' mission statement is, "a non-profit organization providing basic essential needs to boys and girls in foster care in Arizona." With many different branches extending from that single mission statement, MC Companies has decided to focus on their Basic Needs department.
The organization's Basic Needs branch is their largest program in their effort to help foster children. Foster families are not always ready to take care of the children placed in their homes – not having the right things to fill the needs of the children. By providing twin beds, cribs, clothing, diapers, books and other items, Arizona Helping Hands is assisting in making the transition a little smoother.
"We chose to give back to AZ Helping Hands because we know that our donations are going to help families right here in our neighborhood." Says Lesley Brice, President and Partner of MC Companies. "From baby's needs, toys for the holidays and school supplies, our employees know that every donation impacts the lives of a child. Our donations not only help them with basic necessities, it brings a smile to a child's face when they most need it."
MC Companies has asked their employees to donate items that Arizona Helping Hands are in need of such as the items listed above and things like formula, baby wipes, and toys. Before the Thanksgiving holiday, employees of MC Companies headed to the nonprofit to make an in-person donation. This drive not only lets MC Companies give back to the community they work in, but also brings the company together around an important cause.
At MC Companies, the concept of giving back is woven into the fabric of the company. Brice says, "Giving back to charitable organizations that impact the lives of other within our communities where we live, work & play is the core of why our Sharing the Good Life Foundation was created. Our team members are very motivated and passionate about giving back when they know that their efforts impact people right in our neighborhood."
By creating opportunities to give back, they encourage their team members to join in and donate in whatever way they can. Whether that be through paid volunteer hours, PTO donations, or participating in something like the Month of Giving drive, MC Companies encourages their employees to be connected in the community.
