Beauty Startup CEO Rose Lu Links China & the West

With headquarters based strategically in both LA and Shanghai, the brand’s first round of content includes beauty tutorials with top celebrity makeup artists whose clients include Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian and Heidi Klum.

According to Morgan Stanley, China is set to become the world’s largest market for beauty products, with burgeoning demand for premium cosmetics that knows no borders.

The goal of Iconic Rose is to not only showcase the hottest makeup techniques but also let Chinese consumers experience the Hollywood lifestyle.

“I want to bring Hollywood glamour to the everyday consumer in China,” says Rose Lu (IG:@Rosiellu), the ambitious founder, a bilingual Chinese Canadian entrepreneur based in Shanghai China and Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is the beauty capital of the world, the most talented makeup artists, stylists and creative talent all flock to the city due to Hollywood. This is where beauty influencers and indie beauty brands thrive.

“Every time I go back to Shanghai, I feel this huge gap and unmet consumer needs in the beauty market in China, the millennials in China are hungry for quality, hip and trendy beauty brands, products and services. They are also eager to learn and share beauty tips from nop makeup artists and influencers,” Rose Lu says.

The idea of creating a beauty brand was born in 2017, and pre-launched in 2018.

The female entrepreneur not only has modern female qualities such as being fiercely independent, strong headed, and creative, she also embraces traditional Chinese characteristics such as being humble, hardworking and grounded.

Rose Lu grew up in Canada with family roots in Shanghai China, she graduated from the University of Toronto majoring in Fine Art History and World History, and lived between Asia and North America her whole life.

“My unique life experience shaped by a global perspective and profound understanding of both Chinese and Western culture puts me in a very unique position as an entrepreneur.” She says, “God has given me such a unique life experience as a native bilingual who grew up in both cultures, it is my life purpose to be the bridge between China and the West.”

Iconic Rose is set to officially launch its first 2 makeup products in both the USA and China in February 2019.

Iconic Rose is active on all major social media channels in China such as weibo, wechat, little red book and taobao, as well as instagram, youtube and facebook. By using social media as a powerful platform, the brand aims to create a cross cultural exchange between China and the West.
