Gov. Newsom wants big tech in Silicon Valley to pony up $500M for affordable housing

Newly-elected California Gov. Gavin Newsom is making affordable housing a tentpole of his first year in office, and this week called on Silicon Valley’s largest companies to give the state $500 million to help build more homes.
