Journal Sentinel owner Gannett Co. rejects unsolicited $1.4 billion takeover bid

The owner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and several other Wisconsin daily newspapers rejected a hostile takeover bid by a company known for slashing costs when it buys local news publications and websites.
