New data suggests Apple isn't nearly as far along as Waymo with its self-driving car program

Apple fleet of self-driving cars completed nearly 80,000 miles of public road tests in 2018, but experienced "safety disengagements" — where a human driver was forced to take over the car for various reasons — roughly once every 1.1 miles.
