Trump reportedly wanted former Giuliani partner in charge of Stormy Daniels payoff probe

President Donald Trump last year suggested to acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker that Geoffrey Berman, the U.S. Attorney in Manhattan, take charge of an ongoing criminal investigating into hush money payments made to two alleged sexual partners of Trump, Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, The New York Times reported.
