Chicago will elect its first black female mayor as candidates prepare for runoff

Lori Lightfoot, a former federal prosecutor, and Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County board president and chair of the county's Democratic Party got the most votes of the 14 candidates in Tuesday's election, but neither received the majority needed to avoid a runoff, according to the Associated Press. A runoff will take place on April 2.
