Nashville, TN – On January 20th, 2019 Alicia Marie announced a GoFundMe fundraising campaign to assist with and support dire medical expenses for her mother, Lisa Coste. This project is aimed at covering the surgical costs quoted by Laser Spine Institute, a reputable institution.
The recipient of this fundraiser has been thoroughly tested through a spinal MRI which discovered harmful bone spurs between the cervical vertebrae. She also has a herniated disc at L5S1 pressing on the thecal sac, which is causing spinal canal narrowing in the lumbar area as well.
“I have started this campaign to help raise money for my mom to have surgery,” says Alicia. “Her work insurance only covers a small fraction of it. It has been so hard watching my mom go from a happy smiling woman who never cried to a woman who is always in pain.”
As a single mother of three girls and a granddaughter, Lisa Coste works two jobs seven days a week. She is the sole source of income for her growing family. Her current medical condition impairs her ability to work, causing migraines, neck pain, lower back pain, and impaired mobility.
“She has gone through physical therapy, she has had injections in her neck, and she has had nerve blocks done, but the pain has just been getting worse,” Alicia. “The surgery through Laser Spine Institute is $13,480 and will fix this. She will be out of work for about 3 weeks.”
The GoFundMe fundraising campaign will go towards the expenses for this surgery and it has already attracted nearly $2,000 in support. It has also generated an outpouring of support and encouraging comments.
“It seems like I have watched my mom age 10 years in the past year,” says Alicia. “It breaks my heart. I just want my mom back.”
