Texas may collect more online sales taxes; Amazon on board

Senate Bill 70 sets out a blended single local tax rate of 6.25 percent for the state and 1.75 percent for local jurisdictions. In a state such as Texas — with 1,600 jurisdictions that collect sales tax — that is a significant step.
