Consumer watchdog agency sues two large credit-repair firms, alleging unlawful fees and deceptive practices

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has filed a lawsuit against the owners of Lexington Law and CreditRepair.com, accusing them of collecting fees before they were legally allowed to do so and using unfair tactics to get consumers to sign up for their services.
