Support is Helping to Improve Operational Efficiencies and Drive New Sales Opportunities
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - May 8, 2019 - PRLog -- New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG), a subsidiary of AVANGRID Inc., has awarded The Manufacturing Accelerator Program (MAP) grant to Hansford Parts and Products, a Rochester area based contract manufacturing company and machine shop. MAP is administered by NextCorps for the Finger Lakes region on New York.

NYSEG provides MAP funding for economic development programs that aim to enhance the Upstate New York economy. NYSEG awards MAP grants to companies that are dedicated to process improvement, reducing waste, and growing revenues. It provides funding for initiatives for companies like Hansford that are willing to commit to growth, product development, and production.

"NYSEG's grant has already helped us to improve our control over documentation processes for our Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems," said Robert Krochmalech, VP and Chief Operating Officer at Hansford. "This is helping us to transfer knowledge more quickly between employees who are retiring and new talent to enhance their skills and ensure our product quality remains consistent. We're also using the MAP grant to work with a digital marketing agency, webSURGE, to develop a mobile sales app that enables our team to process sales requirements from the road. This is resulting in an uptick in RFQ's (request for quotes) coming from our target territory, the state of Texas."

In addition, the MAP grant is improving Hansford's online presence. Working with NextCorps and webSURGE, Hansford has launched its digital marketing program including a new website, social media channels, video production, search engine optimization, and search engine marketing (SEO/SEM).
