C-pop singer Aoxuan Lee is about to launch LGBTQ+ single

Many singers have brought a lot of resonance to LGBTQ+ through their popular music, providing a diversified representative for the generally conservative Chinese music industry.

Aoxuan Lee is the music director for a gay-themed movie. All the music in the film was composed and finished by Aoxuan Lee. It is reported that the film will participate in major international film festivals. At the same time, Aoxuan Lee used the film to support LGBTQ+ in the form of music. However, the reality that same-sex couples face difficulties without equal legal rights has sparked controversy. 

Throughout your career, you have been very outspoken in support of homosexuality. Make music for gay movies. What brought that about?

I have many LGBTQ+ friends and fans, and many of these songs were made to share their real-life stories and real emotions. Chatting with them, I found that this group is very depressed and wants to release and be free. But because of the pressure that society and the public are bringing to them now, they are afraid to release their inner feelings. I think that myself a platform through which these stories can be called songs, so that people can learn to treat relationships or lives differently from their own lives in a calm manner. Regardless of gender and sexual orientation, everyone has his/her ups and downs, tears and laughter.

What do you think of the state of feelings in throughout Asia, towards LGBTQ+ issues?

I believe that with the help of a wide range of media reports from global news media and social media, driven by music, movies, and other living media, There will be more and more people paying attention to and respecting this group, such as equality in marriage, gender equality and equal rights of LGBTQ+. I also sincerely hope that the world will continue to move in the direction of justice.  

In Taiwan, gay marriage is already legal, how do you think about this issue

Gay marriage has long been seen as an innovative form of traditional marriage in this era. Homosexuality is one of the sexual orientations of people, which is also a concrete manifestation of the development of human multi-element. Taiwan today is gay marriage is legal, I think it is a matter of happiness and worth celebrating. At the same time, I also hope that more countries will recognize gay marriage, tolerance and recognition of homosexuality in the future.

And, as for you what's next?

My next step is to focus on the production of my new musical work. I want to talk more about social issues. Because in recent years I have been exploring and discovering phenomena related to society and humanities. So this is the direction of my new musical work.
