Pentagon acknowledges burn pits exposes veterans to health risks but refuses to close them, report shows

The Department of Defense has seemingly acknowledged the dangers of Burn Pit exposure in a new report recently filed with Congress, but fall short of presenting solutions to correct the problem. In a feasibility study by the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment provided to Congress last month, the Pentagon was to present solutions for ceasing all use of burn pits for waste disposal on overseas military bases. Instead, the nine-page report highlights the obstacles faced but provides little else.
