Singer-Songwriter Named Finalist in National Contest for Exceptional Brain Training Results

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - August 9, 2019 - (Newswire.com)

Nashville singer-songwriter John Martin has been named the 1st Runner Up in LearningRx’s national Student of the Year competition celebrating the top brain training results across the country.

John enrolled in LearningRx personal brain training after a self-assessment questionnaire indicated he had weak processing speed and reading skills.

“After talking with him on the phone and having him visit the center, we realized that processing speed and reading troubles were the symptoms and that the seven concussions he suffered while playing D1 football for Baylor University was the cause,” says C. Adam Butler, owner and executive director of LearningRx Nashville. “John made decisions and chose a career path that emphasized his strengths while covering up his deficiencies. As he prepared for a career change, he realized he was stuck and couldn’t understand why.”

A more detailed cognitive skills assessment determined that John had very weak long-term memory, auditory processing and word attack, all crucial skills for a singer-songwriter and someone studying to become a lawyer.

John says he didn’t notice his cognitive weaknesses in his daily life until he started studying for the LSATs. In the three months since starting his LearningRx personal brain training program, John has already improved from the 15th percentile on the LSAT to the 55th percentile. He’s been accepted into Belmont University’s Law School to study music and entertainment law.

“I don’t think people understand how fun brain training can be, because a lot of people don’t know what it is,” says John. “I’ve been telling my parents to do brain training. I’ve been telling my friends. I like the fact that I’m seeing results. I can feel in my brain that something is connecting. If you put the time in and you put the effort in, you’re going to see the results. You get out of this whatever you put into it.”

We wish John the best of luck as he finishes brain training, studies for his LSATs and continues to pursue his career in the music industry.
