The Sussex property market is on the up with 15% more buyers per property compared to 2018, according to new data from Mansell McTaggart.

Mansell McTaggart is the largest independent estate agent in Sussex with 17 offices spreading out towards Surrey. The company does regular research into the buying habits and patterns of house hunters in their area and are pleased to report an upturn in the property market this year.
According to their results, which are based on activity within the business, there was a 15% uplift in the number of new buyers for every new property coming on to the market in the second quarter of 2019 (1st April to 30th June) compared to the same period last year.
Jaime Wallden, senior director of Mansell McTaggart said: "Time and again we see demand for property in our area is consistently strong, and that property has remained a sound investment."
The data also showed that viewings also rose by 20% in the same period suggesting that buyers in the Sussex area aren’t deterred by the current political climate and that the area remains a strong contender for new buyers. This is great news for everyone as it suggests that buyers are continuing to show interest in the market and sellers needn’t put off listing their properties if they are ready to sell now.
As Martin Storey said, “It just goes to show that people have a healthy disregard for whatever nonsense goes on at Westminster, and just carry on with their lives. If people need to buy property, they do – and the strong but sustainable rise in prices over the years since the EU Referendum shows that."
West Sussex consistently outperforms the rest of the South-East region and between 2016-2018, a growth rate of 13% was recorded compared to 10% in the South-East region.
