By: Issuewire

Monmouth County, Apr 15, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - A story of courage and passion of a young nurse determined to do good during the bleak hardships of war.

With her desire to do good into the middle of a war zone she's torn with her mixed emotions of going home to a country ripped by an unpopular war, with uncertainty how she will be treated coming home from a combat zone.

M*A*S*H Vietnam: What It's Like To Be A War Nurse is a story not so much about the war but about a regular nurse who followed her passion with first hand, behind-the-scenes account of what Vietnam was really like in the middle of a war.

Lorna Griess offers a precise, straightforward account with a story that offers a solid addition to the historical record of one of America's most divisive wars.

The author captures the beauty of how believing in yourself and seeking your passion could help you do extraordinary things for society and the humankind.

Lorna Griess made the Army Nurse Corps her career after her tour in Vietnam. She served in hospitals worldwide for almost thirty years. She retired as a full colonel and chief nurse at Letterman Army Medical Center on the Presidio in San Francisco (now closed). She serves as a veterans' advocate in the California State Legislature and is a member of several other veterans' organizations including Vietnam Veterans, AMVETS, and VFW.
