The doctor is board-certified through the American Board of Neurological Surgery, whose broad aim is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the science of neurological surgery and thereby serve the cause of public health. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Shannon graduated with his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and completed a General Surgery Residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He continued on and completed his residencies in neurology and neurosurgery at NYU Bellevue.
