Global non-profit launches virtual D&I program to retain and develop women in leadership
Monument, Jun 29, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Young Life, a Colorado Springs youth development non-profit, is rolling out a new women's leadership development program for its service center staff. This Diversity and Inclusion initiative called ARROW -advancement, recruitment, and retention of women- tasks 360º Life Strategies, a women's leadership development consultancy, with the development of a turnkey program for women launching in July 2020.
"Many global non-profit organizations are recognizing that the retention of women and their development for leadership is one of the top talent issues of this decade," said Tricia Blake, Young Life's Chief Learning Officer. "We chose 360º Life Strategies to lead this effort because we want a faith-based, whole-life approach to this program. The timing of our July launch is very intentional, showing our commitment in the midst of this crisis to being future-focused."
360º Life Strategies provides coaching programs and retreats to advance women in leadership by taking a whole-life approach to the development of leadership from the inside out. Life Strategy Coach Donna Carlson leveraged a 25-year business career to create the Life Strategy Design Program in a global leadership master's program through Fuller Theological Seminary.
"Employee engagement surveys over the past five years demonstrate that our workforce is about 60% engaged wholeheartedly in their work and we believe that's reflective of the fact that most leadership programs only address about two-thirds of the human experience. Life Strategy Design is built on the premise that successful leadership requires a whole life approach - spirit, soul, and body." Carlson says.
Carlson has built an original turnkey program for Young Life created to be self-sustainable for the non-profit to continue running internally. Three cohorts of 12 women represent three levels of leaders, from young professionals to seasoned executives, who will become mentors for future programs when they graduate this inaugural program that launches July 23, 2020.
