Trump administration slams proposal to alter historical DC monuments, says mayor should be ‘ashamed’

The White House flatly rejected calls Tuesday by Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, to “remove, relocate or contextualize” historical statues and memorials that are contrary to “D.C. values” or in some way encourage the oppression of minorities.
