Cooper Power Systems President Offers Valuable Insight During Congressional Hearing on Smart Grid Technology

Cooper Power Systems President Michael A. Stoessl spoke before the U.S. House of Representatives on July 23, 2009 at a hearing titled “Effectively Transforming Our Electric Delivery System to a Smart Grid.” The hearing addressed the various processes and inherent challenges associated with improving the intelligence and capabilities of the nation’s electric grid. The hearing was held by the Committee on Science and Technology, Subcommittee on Energy and Environment, which is chaired by Rep. Brian Baird (D, WA).

D, National Coordinator for Smart Grid Interoperability at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST); Paul De Martini, Vice President of Advanced Technology at Southern California Edison; Patricia Hoffman, Assistant Secretary at the Department of Energy, Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability; and Suedeen G. Kelly, Commissioner, Federal Energy Regulation Committee.
