Effective August 2, 2005, Eugene I. Davis resigned from the Board of Directors of Exide Technologies. As provided in the Company's definitive proxy statement filed on July 29, 2005, Mr. Davis had decided not to stand for reelection at the Company's upcoming August 30, 2005 annual meeting of shareholders.
