SECTION 7 – REGULATION FD

Item 7.01
Regulation FD Disclosure

Reference is made to Item 8.01 of this Form 8-K for a discussion of the receipt of demand nominations from Minnesota Power's industrial customers for the months of May through August 2010. Our earnings guidance for 2010 provides for a range of potential outcomes and remains at $2.05 to $2.35 per share on projected net income of $73 million to $83 million.

SECTION 8 – OTHER EVENTS

Item 8.01
Other Events

Demand nominations from Minnesota Power’s industrial customers for the months of May through August 2010, were received on March 1, 2010. Total demand nominations are 69 percent higher than the same period in 2009, and 17 percent higher than the January through April 2010 nominating period. As previously disclosed in our 2009 Annual Report on Form 10-K, we expected an increase in taconite production in 2010 compared to 2009, although less than previous years’ levels. Raw steel production in the United States is now estimated to run at approximately 70 percent of capacity in 2010.
