On May 6, 2009, Cardium Therapeutics, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Cardium”) and its subsidiary Tissue Repair Company, issued a press release announcing the completion of recruitment for the pioneering Phase 2b MATRIX clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Excellarate™ product candidate for the potential treatment of non-healing foot ulcers in patients with type I or type II diabetes. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated by reference herein.
