WRAL Weather Alert Day: Flash flood warning for Lee County, rain continues into tonight

<p>I'm meteorologist Kat Campbell. We are tracking showers and thunderstorms across the area as low pressure moves by. The greatest concern is the heavy rain, and we have seen reports of flooding, even folks stranded in their vehicles and water rescues in Sanford. Lee County remains under a flash flood warning until 5:15. We're going to continue to see these. Scattered storms with downpours through about sunset tonight, but after sunset we should begin to see the rain gradually die down. Overnight will be mainly dry with some clouds lingering. And then our next system will approach from the west. It's this approaching front. We have new information. WREO weather alert day has been declared for Saturday. Friday, the greater concern is just West of us, but Saturday there's a level 2 out of 5 severe weather threat. It's going to be hot. It's going to be humid, and that could fuel some severe weather. We're watching Sunday as well. We're in the severe weather possible zone right now, and that may mean part of our area is placed under a level 2 risk. It feels like June. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s this weekend. Friday should be the driest day of the weekend.</p>
