Overall, this weekend is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors on Saturday, but be prepared for potential rain and storms on Sunday.

Labor Day weekend forecast: Enjoy a sunny Saturday before rainy weather moves in Sunday

Happy Saturday. I'm meteorologist Chris Michaels and today is another steamy Saturday for us as we see high temperatures across the board between 92 and 93 degrees. Now, it's gonna take some time as we've started out the day with some clouds and some fog. And so once all that kind of dissipates, that's when temperatures will really start to climb. It's also very humid out there, but nothing to show for it really. The atmosphere is very worked over after yesterday's storm. So we're really not looking at a ton of storminess for your Saturday. We'll call it about a 30% chance as you see some isolated activity during the afternoon and you may see a few showers feeding off of the storms in Virginia heading into the overnight hours, but again, not expecting a ton out of that either as the atmosphere will be more stabilized by then. Here's 1 p.m. tomorrow. Pay attention to your screen here and you'll notice just how quickly things will develop in the heat and humidity of the day and with a front nearby. So we'll keep tabs on the potential for localized flooding and localized wind damage there. Will also be some pretty frequent lightning attached to that as well. Well, now as we go into, uh the Labor Day itself, this front is mostly going to be to our south. So the better chance for showers Labor Day near and south of the Triangle. And even by Tuesday and Wednesday looks like most rain is going to stay well to the south of the area. So for today, for tomorrow, high of 92 degrees Labor Day, high temperatures only in the low to mid eighties as that front is going to be farther to the south. And we see the wind shifting out of the northeast still think will be mostly cloudy. Then as we head into Tuesday and wind day, that's when the humidity really starts to drop. It's not going to feel quite as cool as it did this last go round. But at least a nice little break from the tropical mugginess that's out there and that's probably going to last us here as we had late week into next weekend. Looks like below average temperatures. Our average high is at about 8687 degrees. So beyond Labor Day, looking at highs 78 to 82 lows, about 62 to 66 rain chances will gradually start to creep back into the mix heading until late next week.
